How we work

A broker that checks the empty flights first

Deadhead Flights is an air charter broker. We find the right aircraft for your trip, often a repositioning flight already heading your way, and arrange it with a certificated operator.

What we do

Every day, aircraft fly empty between trips. We keep track of where those flights are going and match them to people who want to make the same journey. When nothing suitable is moving your way, we arrange a regular charter instead, and we show you both so the choice is yours.

Your request goes to one advisor, who stays with the trip from the first quote until you land. That person checks the operator, confirms the aircraft, explains the conditions and keeps you informed if anything changes.

What we don't do

  • We do not own or operate aircraft. Every flight is operated by an FAA Part 135 direct air carrier, or the foreign equivalent, which keeps operational control of the aircraft.
  • We do not sell memberships or jet cards, and you do not need a deposit to ask for a quote.
  • We do not show live prices or listings on this site. Prices change by the hour, so every option is quoted for your actual trip.

Standards we hold operators to

Before an operator reaches your quote, we confirm its Part 135 certificate and insurance for the aircraft concerned. Many operators also hold third-party safety ratings, such as ARGUS Gold, Gold+ or Platinum, Wyvern Wingman, or IS-BAO registration at stages 1 to 3, and we tell you which apply. Crews work within legal duty and rest limits, which is why repositioning flights come with fixed windows.

What to expect

After you send a request, your advisor emails you options with the operator, aircraft type and an all-in price, including the federal excise tax and segment fees on domestic flights. If you choose one, you sign a charter agreement with the operating carrier, which sets out payment, changes and cancellation. On the day, you arrive at the private terminal shortly before departure with photo ID, and your advisor keeps watching the flight until touchdown.

Tell us the trip. We'll check both ways.

A repositioning flight if one fits your route, a regular charter if it doesn't. Both priced all-in, both flown by Part 135 operators.
